Hi!  My name is Abby… I was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 14 after I had two tonic clonic seizures.

Here are some fun facts about me, in no particular order:

I love being active.  My activity of choice varies so that I don’t get bored with one particular hobby.  I like to switch it up!

I’m a mom to two adorable Mini Aussie pups named Huey and Teddy.  Huey is named after Huey Lewis and the News, and Teddy got his name because he looks like a bear (in my opinion).  I wanted to name him Elvis, my husband Evan wanted to name him Pharrell, so we compromised with Teddy.

I love vacations.   If I’m not at work, I’m probably somewhere with an umbrella drink in my hand.  The picture above is my husband and I on a boat (on vacation) in the British Virgin Islands.

I was born and raised in St. Louis!  Go Cards! Let’s Go Blues!

I’ve lived in five states: Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Texas… in that order.

My career started in construction, and I fell into commercial real estate by chance.  I’ve fallen in love with the industry, but I still love vacation more.

I am a self-proclaimed news junkie.  If it was allowed, I’d get a 20″ TV to stream cable news all day, every day.

I have been on the Today Show!  Twice!  I asked Joy Bauer questions about healthy habits.  It was a really cool experience.

I have too many “favorite books” to count… but two that made an impact on me include Eat, Pray, Love and Brain on Fire.

I have seizures, but live to “Seize the Day” and not let epilepsy define me.
